At first, I was so impressed! I was expecting a dumpy restaurant, judging by the front entrance. But inside was really nice. There were lights and palm trees, everything. We were seated at a weird corner table next to the register, but it was fine because the drinks were amazing. The appetizer was really yummy - we ordered crab cakes. The main dishes, however, were sub-par. I ordered some type of rainbow trout almondine which was swimming in butter. My mom ordered flash fried lobster which was OK. But the biggest of my complaints is the noise level. THE MUSIC WAS SO LOUD. I am young, I am used to being in loud places i.e. bars but A) this place is not a bar B) it was absurdly loud. Please, please turn the music down!!! Food/ambiance need work for sure.

I went here for a private party and was disappointed. I had heard that it wasn't all that great but it was worse than expected. The staff were alright but not great, I sat without a drink for a while without anyone asking. I definitely won't be back unless dragged here. We began with a cocktail hour. I was a little bit surprised my cousin wasn't IDed as she's barely 22. I'm not a huge fan of shrimp but everyone seemed to love them and they were huge. We had the pigs and a blanket which were pigs in a blanket. The crab fritters were tiny, smaller than the size of a quarter. I only had one, I didn't think they were anything special. We also had the brisket strudel which I only had one of as well, again it was pretty eh. The chicken satay was the only appetizer I actually enjoyed, the sauce was decent and I had a couple. I mostly blame the person who picked the appetizers but I wasn't impressed with any of the selections. For a starter I had the lobster bisque. I thought it was a bit heavy on the sherry and light on lobster. I think it was the first time I've had a lobster bisque that didn't have a single piece of lobster in it. For my main I had the blackened dolphin which was disappointing. My uncle ordered the same dish and was sitting directly in front of me, his was served correctly with capers and a brown butter sauce, mine was served without capers and a lemon olive oil sauce. It was a ridiculous lack of consistency and attention to detail. The fish was cooked perfectly but I wasn't really feeling the sauce with blackened fish. In the end meh really describes my feeling.

I don't live in Boca Raton, so I don't know any of the local restaurants. I went online to find a really nice place to take my mom for her birthday. I googled upscale restaurants and the found City Fish Market and took a chance on it They have complimentary valet parking, which was nice. The restaurant inside was spacious. Our table overlooked a man-made water canal. Very romantic. The flies were not. One kept dive bombing my friend's face. Drinks were $11.00, so I had high expectations for the food. Unfortunately I was disappointed. The filet mignon was very salty and I couldn't taste the meat. This leads me to believe that it may not have been a really good cut of meat, otherwise why disguise the taste like that. The general manager did offer to get me another filet minus the salt, but I declined. Frankly I didn't trust them to do it right, plus everyone would have finished their meals before I started mine. I left half of it uneaten and didn't take it home. The cauliflower and broccoli side dish was also quite salty. I would have preferred it just steamed and the salting left to me. Dessert was uninspiring. Double chocolate cake looked like it could have come from the dessert case at Publix. The key lime pie was ok, if you like key lime pie. The brownie sundae was ok but nothing to write home about. The only good thing I can say is they comped the desert to make up for the filets. They obviously tried to please us, and I left the waitress a nice tip (it wasn't her fault) and gave a fiver to the valet. I won't be going back, but I guess I'm tougher to please than most Boca Ratoners. If you like Friday's or Cheesecake Factory, you'll probably like City Fish Market. It's the same quality, just more money.

This is the best seafood restaurant in Boca. Their crab cakes are off the charts, Thai Fish Tacos amazing and NE Cl Chowder is yum !! Happy hour starts at 5 PM. the staff is very friendly and the head chef is a perfectionist. I love the place. Gorgeous talented singer Saturday night worth hearing, very talented.

Took my parents here for their anniversary. They were tickled when the staff said Happy Anniversary to them. A very nice thing to do. Lobster roll was good & my dad had fried shrimp which was good as well. I think the food is too simple for the price. Just one negative: I called ahead of time to ask if the restaurant did anything like bring out a slice of cake with a candle or anything of that sort so I could surprise my parents and they informed me that they did. I was disappointed to find out this wasn't done. I would have preferred to be told the truth so I could have planned something for after dinner. That's it!

Been back a few more times and I decided it's the best seafood in Boca it is even better than my favorite NYC seafood restaurant The Atlantic Grill.

I just had my mom's 90th birthday party here in one of their private rooms. I can't speak more highly of the entire staff starting with the event planner, Sherry, who helped us with all the decision making to the waiters and Joe Jackson who was in charge the day of the party. The food, the presentation, and ambiance was fabulous and met all expectations. I would highly recommend City Fish Market.

Easy to find right off the turnpike on Glades Rd. Very efficient front of he house that knows how to honor a reservation time. Great selection of wine by the glass and reasonable bottle prices, too. Wait staff is knowledgable of the menu and the numerous methods to prepare the ultra fresh seafood selections. Although we did not enjoy any of the dessert selections those that were delivered to other nearby guests looked delicious. A little pricey but for a special occasion worth the experience. Would definitely return.

Came mid week and the place was full. We sat down within 10 minutes and had the tuna app along with a ceaser salad. Waiter was excellent offered to split the items as well as explained items on the menu. The food was amazing and extremely fresh. Great for large parties and events.

This was our first visit to City Fish Market. I've seen and read a lot of good and bad reviews, but a friend and I wanted to try it for ourselves. It was a birthday dinner with a very good friend. The restaurant was about half full, and nobody in the waiting area at the check in area. Our experience started out with a little friction because the young lady that sat us gave us a very small booth and when we asked for a larger table, of which there were several nearby, and we were told, without any hesitation, that there were no other tables. It was obviously a standard and trained response. When we pointed to two open tables nearby, all this young lady said was "No, there's nothing else". We asked how she could know that without even looking at a seating chart, etc., so she said she'd look and walked away. While we sat in the small booth, our server, Debbie, came over and we asked if we could move to a larger table, and pointed to one across from us. Debbie, without a second thought, said "I don't see why not, let me check." In a few minutes, Debbie came back to us, pulled back two chairs at the table we suggested earlier, and said "welcome, please sit here!" She was fantastic, and it only got better from there. We ordered the shellfish tower, excellent. We shared the sea bass Hong Kong style, as Debbie recommended, very good as well; not over the top or some exceptionally creative dish, but that's not what this place is about. Had it not been for Debbie, I'm not sure the evening would have been quite as good. This is not a super fine dining restaurant and even in our early and mid 50's we were clearly the youngest couple there, however, what they do, they do right. It's a bit dated, and could use a little TLC, but, other than the initial seating issue, I have no complaints and it's certainly a good goto for a fresh fish dinner in a casual setting.

Cold soup, M I A waiter, short staffed, restaurant, Rusty lettuce, terrible food pairing. Choked on overly vinegar ceviche. Told waiter we were on strict diets. Ordered salad with dressing on the side. Of course it came out completely saturated in dressing and had to go back. Now I know why the salads are overly dressed. Our replacement salad was all rusty. Ceviche was paired with cold numerously re-fried sweet potato fries AND FRIED PLANTAIN strips! Good diet recommendation by the waiter. We immediately removed the ceviche bowl from the fried food platter and set the platter aside. The waiter made note & never offered a substitute or an apology for poor diet selection advice. Should've been more assertive but didn't want to make an issue in front of our dining companions who already had to send back cold soup. Missing silverware, MIA staff. Trying to get coffee was the last straw! What little staff was there was tied up with orders going back to the kitchen. We observed this all around us. Had heard bad reviews and stayed away until now. We should have listened. Never again. BTW $50PP for that lovely lunch!

The food here is good, but to me, the atmosphere is lacking. I feel like I'm walking into a fish market. Every where you look there's displays of fish, oysters, mussels, lobsters, and more. There's even fish mounted on the wall. It's a little overwhelming. When I'm there, my favorite thing to eat is the bread and a salad. The bread came to our table steaming hot, right out of the oven. It is crusty, and chewy, and delicious. The salads tastes super fresh and their dressings are delicious. I've tried the balsamic and the ranch basil dressings. Both were excellent. My friend had the mahi mahi with mashed potatoes and vegetables. He said it was very good. He especially liked the lemon butter sauce that was on the fish. Our server Eric was so nice. He answered our questions and went out of his way to be helpful. When I come back I'll be sure to ask for him.

Don't believe any of the bad reviews on here this place is absolutely amazing. I had the best oysters here, the best tuna tartare and the absolute best sea bass I've had in forever. The desserts were also amazing and I recommend you try this place. I can't wait to go back and try a different entree and enjoy more oysters.

Great seafood, even better service! We wanted a special experience for my father-in-law's 87th birthday. One of our party of seven called the manager ahead of time, and he couldn't have been nicer. We ate at a big round table so all of us (even those of us who are a little hard of hearing) could see and hear each other. The bread was good, crusty, and warm. The shrimp & crab starter was delicious. The crabmeat tasted like it was fresh from the ocean. Our fish courses were delicious across the board. My trout was fresh, flaky, and tasty. The sweet potatoes were a perfect complement, and the broccoli was done to a T. Best of all was our waitress Debbie, who was smart, attentive, and gave us clear and helpful advice. She related well with the older folks, as well as to the young mother and her 8-month old. Debbie was friendly, fast, and there when we wanted her, but never a nuisance. The manager stopped by at the start of our meal, and then, at the end, to make sure that we were happy. We were. It's great when a restaurant with a good reputation exceeds your expectations. City Fish Market was exceptional.

Came from the Hilton Hotel next door. The place was packed at 7:30pm on a Friday. We had high hopes based on the crowd. Unfortunately the dinner was very bland. Not sure if that is due to the age of the clientele. In any event the place was average in quality for the food and very nice as far as the decor and staff. There are many places that have better fresh fish in the area. We told the manager of our disappointment with one dish (blackened grouper) and they did not charge for it, which was very professional.

Eat outside if you want to hear each other, TIP to all the people reading reviews about the noise levels inside. There are fans, a lovely view of a man made lake filled with swans, turtles, fish & various ducks. The food, drinks & service were top notch. I had the watermelon martini, crab cake appetizer, flounder & key line pie. My food was superb & the rest of our party were equally pleased. This place is the real deal. We would all go back & can't wait to be in Boca to do so. Just go & reserve a table outside.

Great service, delicious food. Atmosphere was very nice but extremely noisy. Our meal started off with a hot loaf of crusty bread. Heaven! My cousin and I shared their wonderful Tuscan Kale salad. Very tasty! I ordered their mussels Fra Diavolo for my entree. The broth was sooo delicious. My mussels were cooked perfectly. I had a few that didn't open. They made another order of a half dozen mussels for me. Excellent customer service. My husbands halibut was cooked to perfection. All in all, can't wait to go back!

Awesome restaurant. Great food, pleasant environment, very good service. The entry area with fish deli case is a little odd, but that is pretty big "who cares". I will definitely go back.

I love city fish happy hour. Drinks and food are great. I've tried almost everything there. I would have given 5 stars if they hadn't changed their menu. Seems like they scaled down on the amount of tuna they give. But I still love this place for happy hour!

The best seafood I've found thus far in South Florida. My only problem is that it seems the bussers do more than your actual waitor. Bring you bread, water, clear plates, and check on you more than the actual waitor does after you've ordered. I hope the bussers get a cut of the tip too.

This was our second time here, although the first was a long time ago. The food was delicious and the service was mostly excellent. Our waiter forgot to bring an appetizer, but was apologetic and included a dessert for my husband's birthday in our take-home package. It is very noisy, but a table by the window gives a lovely view of a little lake and fountain, as well as some privacy.

I'm a business traveler and find myself sitting at the bar for dinner on a regular basis. In short, the food was above average (not as good as advertised), service was awful, and the ambiance felt dated. The long version goes like this: I arrived on a Wednesday night around 8:30 PM. It was after the dinner rush and the bar was about 70% full. There was live music, she sounded great but wrapped up shortly after 9:00 PM. I was promptly greeted and delivered an ice cold Stella. From there everything went downhill. SERVICE - After passing me for the 3rd time without even looking up, I flagged down the bartender to place my order. Sadly I wasn't the only person have issues. Two other patrons were visibly upset trying to get another drink, one even stood up and waved both arms. That may sound rude but I observed them being patient for a quite a while. BREAD - My clam chowder arrived in a few minutes. I asked for some bread and the server was irritated that the bartender didn't get it for me. 15 minutes later, four bread baskets arrived all for me? I took the one and while he tried to give the others out but there were no takers. Those 3 baskets just sat there, got cold, and were eventually thrown away. What a waste! LOBSTER - Now the main course. It arrived with no drawn butter, without a lobster cracker, or a bowl for my shells. Again, I needed to flag someone to get the few things I needed. The food was pretty good and I enjoyed the full lobster. CHECK - As I was finishing up my meal, the bartender started flipping out that two women walked out without paying. He then proceeded to tell the next 8 to 9 of his co-workers what just happened. Soon after he took my credit card, ran it, and dropped off my check presenter without even a word. After spending $70 for a one-top, a thank you would be nice. STAFF - There was actually a 2nd bartender this whole time but she was so preoccupied with closing and re-stocking the bar that she was a non-factor. When I walked out, the valet guys were screwing around and talking about how high they got last night. This is an upscale restaurant right? A lifetime ago, I worked in restaurants for over 10 years. So I know what it's like to be on the other side. The restaurant wasn't busy. City Fish Market may have been a great place to eat years ago but my experience was poor at best. My belief is that if management doesn't care then nobody else does. I didn't see a manager once while I was there.

The best fish in South Florida! Great bar and large restaurant that feels intimate at the same time. Wines are great, as well as their salads. Service is top-notch at this place, and you can go every week because the menu is so large. Never been disappointed with a dinner there!!!

    (5)
  • Scott G.

Really? Took 5 minutes for the valet to show up, 10 more for the bartender to wander over to give me water, and I waited 10 more minutes before giving up and walking out. There were 7 people sitting at the bar and 3 bartenders that were too busy to take a dinner order. I am across the street eating. What an embarrassment. I spoke to the hostess on the way out to express my disappointment but she had no interest in listening. She never even replied when I told her what happened.

My husband and I were on vacation in Boca Raton. We thought we'd try this popular seafood restaurant since eating well is part of being on vacation. We knew it would be a little more than what we usually pay for dinner. But that's part of being on vacation too. We ordered an appetizer of fried calamari from Maine. They were light and tender but nothing outstanding. I ordered the Boston sole. It was a little on the soggy side and the francais taste was not coming through, despite the egg coating and the capers. The lemon sauce could have been too heavy. The mashed potatoes were very thin, like a purée. The vegetable medley was a little on the crunchy side. My husband's skillet seafood newberg au gratin failed to mention anything about the red pepper base that gave it a distinctive pimento taste which is not a favorite of my husband's. It also tasted smoky, borderline burned. In both of our entrees, the seafood did not stand out. We were very disappointed about that. Our dinner was not the memorable one we had hoped for.

For a Saturday night at 8pm our large party reservation of 10 was easily accommodated without any wait. We had 7 adults and 3 kids and everyone's food tasted amazing! The Hong Kong fish combo was so unique and perfectly executed, the Parmesan crusted salmon was fantastic as well! It's a beautiful establishment and the service was top-notch. We absolutely will return!!

We've been to city fish quite a few times. Again we were told that they ran out of things on the menu. It's a fish restaurant and they also sell retail. There is no excuse. Dinner last night was fair. Service was very poor. Waited long time for the main dishes to be served and when they came three of the four were cold. Sent a few dishes back and when they came back again were still cold but the plate was hot. Don't know how they did this. Very disappointedas it's a pretty restaurant and we enjoy fish

We ate there on A Sunday and thought it was great. We had drinks at the bar for happy hour and the mussels for an appetizer. Tasted great, although menu said it was a pound but seemed like much less. Two of us had the Sautéed grouper and one person the yellow tail snapper. All three dishes were excellent. Wish we had reasonably priced NY seafood. Waiter was friendly and attentive without being annoying

Grabbed dinner here during our stay at the Hilton Suites. Place was packed but we got comfortable seats at the bar and were promptly served by the busy but friendly bar staff. Bartender recommended the Sea Bass in soy/ginger sauce with basmati rice. Was terrific! Light but still filling and very tasty.

i am a fan of buckhead life restaurants since the time i lived in atlanta and pano and paul opened the first chops. In fl, i frequent city fish often. Last night was a terrible disappointment - the dover sole was tasteless, tough and poorly cooked. in addition, the service was not up to their standard. The lobsters we ordered, after they took it out of the shell 3 lbs and 1.5 lbs was like a shrimp cocktail. I was so dissappointed dont know if i will ever go back

Very good experience. Great selection on the menu, although out of a few fresh catches for 8pm seating. Had the grilled swordfish which was excellent. Each fresh catch comes with 2 sides as well. Good overall service. Also tried the rainbow trout almandine, which was very good.

Look no further!!!! An incredible restaurant that deserves all the merit in the world. I have dined here plenty of times, however last night was by far the most incredible experience. Every day the restaurant offers a happy hour menu from 4pm-8pm. My boyfriend and I arrived at 6:45pm, there was a nice spacious booth calling our names. Immediately after sitting down, a waiter asked us if we wanted anything to drink..talk about fast service! We both ordered Stella Artois for $3.50 each. From the not so tiny happy hour menu we ordered to share, Skillet Roasted Oysters (5) for $6.95, Blue Hill Bay Mussels for $7.95, Jumbo Lump Crab Cake for $8.50 and East Coast Oysters on Ice (5) for $7.95. The last item we ordered to share is from the main menu, the City Fish Market chopped salad for $8.95. Each item we ordered was decadent and exceeded our expectations. A nice perk to the happy hour/bar area is the live music, great talent and selection of songs.

Very nice restaurant. The seafood is very fresh. While the place is pricey you still can dine there without spending a fortune if you want. We had salad.. shrimp and scallops. Wine that was on a featured list was good. Every thing was prepared well. The staff were attentive but not overly personable. I would definitely go back again. It is the mind of place to fou when you are dining out on a special occasion.

The place got a lil noisy but had a lovely lady singing on the lil stage. It brought back memories when I use to eat there when it was "Pete's, Totally different decor now. The waiter Zeke was Marvy and attentive. I ordered the South African Lobster lightly battered with a chopped salad to start. It was fresh delicious, the lobster sides I had were sweet potato and spinach. It was my birthday, and they gave me a lil fab desert after. I really enjoyed being back in the bld g which use to be my old stomping ground, and had a wonderful evening. I would recommend it!!!! Lil pricey but worth the service and food!

I chose this place based off the recommendations here. I was looking for a nice place with great food for a night out with my girlfriend. Boy did I find the right place. I made online reservations here, we showed up early, but that was no problem. The table was already ready, and with a view (by request with the reservations). We were sat, and promptly greeted by our waiter, Gus. He ran through the specials, which were lengthy but sounded amazing (up to a 3lb lobster?! egads man). When he was done, we ordered our drinks and started browsing the menu. As we were talking and making our choices, we were greeted by another waiter. I thought shifts were changing as he introduced himself as well, boy was I wrong. He only came to be sure that we were greeted. We assured him we were and he left us to our night. Gus returned with our drinks, and I think that was the last time either of us had an empty glass in front of us. For someone with an insatiable thirst, this was amazing. shortly there after, our server brought us bread for the table. When we finally were able to decide (the menu is quite extensive) we ordered a side of hush puppies as a starter. My date ordered the stuffed flounder and I ordered the seafood skillet. The hush puppies were out almost immediately, and they were huge. I like to believe I've had conch every way you can think....imagine my surprise. These were made with a corn meal, almost corn bread like, batter. With conch spread evenly through out, they were delicious. Around this time, another member of the staff came around to see how we were doing. I presumed it was a manager based off his dress. Shortly after we finished, our food arrived. It was a near seamless transition. I could tell these just came out and were not sitting under any lamps. I could only describe mine as heavenly, and her's was equally delectable (we tried each others). At first, it looked like both were decent portions, and with us being both runners, we thought we could finish them. These dishes were so filling, we could barely finish half of the plate. I feel I have forgotten about Gus at this point.....but that's the beauty of it. He was almost invisible to us. Don't get me wrong, he was incredibly tentative and there when we needed, but he wasn't over bearing as some service can be. But I digress, he came up to us at the appropriate time and asked us if we needed boxes. We told him yes, and he actually took the plates to the back and transferred our food there. He then offered us dessert or coffee, which we politely turned down, and then provided the check. The price was very reasonable for what was provided, and I can say I definitely got the bang for my buck. It was no question that Gus deserved a proper recompense, and of course I obliged. In the end, it could only be described as a "perfect night". And Gus, if you or any of your management is reading this, you deserve an absolute raise. Thank you for the great night

I didn't have their regular menu as I was there for a company dinner; the food was pretty good but the service was a bit slow. They could also have a much better draft beer selection. Very old clientele the night I was there; I can't say if this is the norm or not. Most likely won't make the half hour drive to return.

Dinner with great friends, mojitos, fresh fish and a beautiful setting, that's a great night! While on vacation in S. Florida we met up with friends and dined at CFM. A beautiful setting with big open windows overlooking a lake stocked with beautiful white swans. You walk into to a fish market beautifully showcasing all their fresh fish, lobsters, oysters, clams and more. First, a refreshing mojito, the classic mojito. Then baked clams and mussels. The garlicky wine sauce that the mussels swam in is a perfect dunking station for the basket of bread on the table. We continued onto the entrees. For me it was lemon sole dipped in buttermilk and then pan seared with a side of sweet potato mash and veggies. The fish was very light, the batter was delicious and the sides complimented the dish very well. Overall a great meal, a little pricey but worth it. Only suggestion, the chairs are very uncomfortable, time for an upgrade. I'll be back next time I'm I'm Boca!

Pros: Fish cooked perfectly (most places overcook), service was good, bread was tasty. If you get a table on the little manmade lake, the view is nice. Cons: NOISY. My husband and I sat in silence for our whole meal due to the noise. We could have raised our voices like everyone else in the restaurant but decided not to do so. The music from the bar area overflows into the entire restaurant as well to make matters worse. So much for a nice evening out. The tiramisu was the worst we had ever eaten. We didn't even finish it. While the fish was prepared properly, it did not make this a place I would ever return to eat.

My favorite place in Florida. I would suggest their fresh fish Hong Kong style. About $50 a person incl a cocktail. Make sure to make a reservation first--was not surprised to see a lot of people waiting at 8PM

Decent place. I went here for a private event so the menu was fixed. The salmon was just ok, nothing special. The iceberg salad was very basic with just a few pieces of tomato and cucumber. Dressing was nothing special. I would consider going back and trying the menu to get a better idea of what they have. The restaurant is very big too.

My wife and I have wanted to try this place for 1.5 years and finally did. Nice restaurant, excellent service. Way over priced. $8.95 for a small side salad, 23 bucks for a piece of rainbow trout drowned in butter with some almonds on it and a piece of sweet potato (not even the whole tater) and a few green beans. Will probably look for something else next time.

The restaurant looks like it is a high-end, top notch place. The decor and the ambiance is good. Our server was a complete robot. The truth is that the food is tasteless. They melt butter on everything to make it more delicious. The fish tastes like plastic. Avoid

Pricey, but worth it. I'm not much of a seafood eater myself, and usually I'm not someone who likes to spend extravagantly on meals for one or two people. But if it was for this place, I'd pull out the wallet without giving it another thought. I might be going overboard a tad since one visit may not be enough to figure out everything that this place is about, but this is one fancy food place I'd be happy to go back to. The food was great, I had a pecan crusted salmon dish that was nutty and flavorful. My sides included some mashed sweet potatoes that had a deep spice to them, it was like eating some very tasty pumpkin pie filling. I also got a bowl of clam chowder that was hot, filling, and rich. The bread was quite good too, not that stale stuff that you have to grind down or tear off with your teeth. My desserts included a chocolate layer cake that was light but sweet, as well as fruit sorbet with berries. They made a nice complement of sweet versus sour. This place is expensive though, there was valet parking, live entertainment, and as the name implies, a market up front for purchasing of fish for take-home and preparatory consumption. But we felt we got alot of bang for our bucks, we both ordered from the specials that night, and (barring the sorbet) all of my food cost about $35. Not exactly cheap, but for the food and experience I had, it was a real deal. You may want to scope out the menu first though, since the other dishes did look fairly high in cost, and if we hadn't both gotten three-course specials, I could see us easily spending $40 or $50 on our food each. However, the service was some of the best I've had in this area. The waiter was quick with our drinks, quick to get us more bread whenever we needed it, suggested the sorbet dessert, and had a great and warm personality all night long. I suppose a place like this prides itself on trained staff, but these guys definitely know what they are doing when it comes to treating the customers right. One other thing, I mentioned the valet parking, but I didn't partake in it. I found a spot further down, so I have no idea if the valets are expensive or not. I can't say enough good things about this place, and again, maybe it was just a really great night and next time might not be so savory, but I am still patiently waiting for what that next time will bring.

We went here with a party of 7 for my mother's 80th birthday. I was a little skeptical given some of the previous reviews but after our experience I needed to pipe in with my comments. At first we were seated in the big room at a rickety table. My mom asked if we could move into the other room which was more private and the hostess said no. We sat there for about 5 minutes, unhappy, when the General Manager walked by. SO we approached him asking to move to the big table on the nicer room and also shared that it was my mom's 80th birthday. Immediately, without question, he said, of course. That was the beginning of a wonderful evening. Our server, can't remember his name, was wonderful, and very patient. One has to be patient with a demanding set of 7 east coast people. We kept him busy and he rose to the occasion. The food was wonderful, cooked to perfection. Suggestions by the waiter proved right on. The drinks were varied and amazing. My daughters boyfriend had the bloody mary martini. I have never seen anything quite like it and darn, we forgot to get the name of the vodka - a clear martini that even smelled like a bloody mary! They were kind to bring a little birthday cake and sang. Service was top notch. Yes, the place is pricey but I wouldn't hesitate to go back!

Came here for Mother's Day yesterday while visiting family in Florida. I was a bit disappointed to say the least. Maybe it was because I ordered the wrong thing, because everyone else at my table licked their plates clean. I ordered the surf & turf. The lobster tail tasted like it was frozen. My food came out cold...all together the meal was just ok - definitely not worth the overpriced $39.50. The service, however, is amazing. We loved our server, he knew the menu in and out and was very prompt with my impatient family members!

Been here a few times and most of the meals have averaged 3 stars (there have been a couple 4s and a notable 2 star event) but all in all it is usually a solid choice. Although I have noticed that this place has gotten less crowded over the years. My most recent visit, their list of fresh fish was quite large and I had the tuna tartare (a bit too sweet and with a few too many additions for me--I usually like it to be heavy on the fish). The fish was fresh and unfortunately covered up by the sauce. For my main, I had the blackened grouper with veggies on the side. The fish again was fresh and cooked as ordered. I would have given the dinner four stars, but the service was quite lacking (we never got our water refilled and my grandfather had to ask 3 times for bread for his mussels). For the price, there is probably a better option for seafood, but the fish wont disappoint here.

This is another one of my favorite restaurants in Boca. Probably because its owned by Chops Lobster Bar another one of my favorite restaurants. The atmosphere is really nice, the service is great and the food is amazing! The sole and the mashed potatoes are awesome. I also really enjoy the oysters, desserts, and drinks. Happy hour section is a really great deal here if you can get a seat in this section.

Visiting Boca, I had heard good things about this place. Made a reservation way in advance and were welcomed nicely. Table was one of the best in the house. Lovely waitress, although it took a while before anyone paid attention to us. After that, it got better. I had a lovely wedge salad with blue cheese and my husband had an oyster sampler. Mains were mixed grilled seafood, nicely done, and sole with caper butter. All in all a pleasant dinner with good service and I got to videotape a large swan who kept swimming up to the outdoor are where she was apparently foraging for some human food.

Took my Mom here for Mother's Day. I cannot think of one single thing that wasn't outstanding. I had a crab/shrimp cocktail, crabcakes, and apple crumb cake. My Mom had broiled salmon, a greek salad, and brownie for dessert. Every single item, including the sides (spinach for her, string beans and mashed pots for me) was outstanding. The server was outstanding. Bus service was outstanding. And the kitchen help ... who delivered the dished to our table even took the time to wish my Mom a Happy Mother's Day! Also, it is set on a natural lake so the views are amazing. You can't beat this experience. I'll be back.

Stopped at the bar for happy hour. Bartender was friendly and funny. Great appetizers and good prices. Really enjoyed the Boca Mojitos. Very unique with basil instead of mint. Thought I wouldn't like them but I was wrong. Would come back for a full meal.

Nice place, water views, and staff was so nice. Being here alone, I ate at the bar and enjoyed Monday night Football. Food was very good. I even saw a raccoon on the road out and he was clean with a shiney coat!! Combo seafood platter was large and in charge!

We're staying at the hotel right next door...so we thought seafood would be ideal for dinner. Below I've listed my pros and cons to the establishment. Pros - 1. Service was good. Our server was funny and able to take my dad's jokes with a grain of salt. 2. Seafood was fresh. 3. Restaurant/restrooms were clean. Cons - 1. Price. Granted we ordered a few adult beverages, 3 appetizers and 4 entrees, but out total bill (without tip) was over $700. I'm sorry, but no seafood is that god. 2. Wait. Our server was nice, BUT we were always waiting. Waiting for our drinks and given the excuse the bar is backed up. Waiting for our appetizers. Waiting for 45 minutes for our entrees. It turned into a very long evening. 3. Mistakes. When entrees came out (after waiting 45 minutes), I had to ask for my salad. My boyfriend and step mom had to ask for their side items (which should have already been on their plates) an my dad's steak was cooked incorrectly. He asked for medium well and it came out medium rare. Overall...if you're looking for a fancy, overpriced seafood restaurant (I'm thinking to impress a first date)...then check them out. I'm pretty sure being this close to water...there was plenty of other seafood options to pick from.

Have been to CFM at least a half dozen times. Everyone we have dined with has always enjoyed the experience...most have commented on how extensive the menu is, and how good the food is. And each time we visit, the place is always very busy (reservations are highly recommended). No place is free from error, but these guys do as good a job as any around (we believe better).. going back again in just a couple of days.

Overpriced, noisy and often gets the order incorrectly. We've eaten here 17x from Aug thru Feb ordering room service from CFM to the Hilton. They're the only restaurant associated with the hotel. Despite the fresh food, they can't get the order right 75% of the time. Pity on us and the other guests!!!!

Great service, great atmosphere, delicious food, expensive for what you get....What can I say except we had a fabulous time, "Z" was an excellent waiter, food was delicious, felt like we paid way too much when it was over. Would we go back? Probably with a Groupon deal.

City Fish market in Boca Raton is a nice seafood restaurant. The place is a bit on the pricey side but when it comes to fresh seafood it is worth every penny. I had the swordfish steak, it was cooked perfect and loaded with flavor from the reduction sauce, the side of cole slaw was a nice add on. I thought the waiter #209 was very knowledgable of the menu and professional. The only thing that made me feel uncomfortable were all the rich stuck up seniors. There should be a law against 90 year olds wearing tight Lacosta shirts. Anyways....If you don't mind spending the extra $$$ you will impressed at the quality of food.

I love fish and have been to fish restaurants in southern Florida, southern California, New York City, Italy, and Israel. The dish I had at City Fish Market was hands down the BEST one I've ever had! The fish was so fresh and perfectly cooked. I loved everything from the bread to the mashed potatoes to the green beans. I even heated my leftovers the next day and they were nearly as delicious as when they were fresh! Oh, the service was really good too. I guess it's a little on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for. :)

I had great expectations for City Fish Market when I made the reservation celebrating my wife's birthday. We took the kids and made it a family night out. To my surprise, they actually had a kids menu with not only the standard chicken strips, but also offered Mahi Mahi and other fish. First impression, so far, so good. One of the featured entrees were the Nantucket scallops. We opted to get 2 orders and when taken through the sides to choose from were offered "Hong Kong" style sauteed spinach with a soy ginger sauce with "sticky" rice. My wife and I also opted for this which took the place of both side options for the dish. For appetizers my wife ordered 5 Blue Point oysters and I ordered the Lobster Bisque and Thai Chili Calamari. The oysters came out first and were somewhat small for Blue Points and, for lack of a better way to put it, tore up. They seemed to be shredded and placed back on the shell instead of carefully scooped free. They tasted so so. The calamari was "rings only" with no tentacles which was good. The chili glaze left much to be desired though. For most people it would have been sweet, slightly spicy, and an exotic change of pace. For a person like me or my wife, who are half Asian and love all Asian foods, one could identify the sauce as the same chili sauce that comes in a bottle that you get from the Asian market. Yes, calamari tossed in bottled chili sauce, or at least that was the taste. The Lobster Bisque was a let down. The color was a dark almost brown, matching a pumpkin pie's hue. There was ZERO lobster in the soup. I've tasted lobster bisque in at least a dozen other restaurants and this was the first time that I have had it without any lobster. The main course came out and I must say I was shocked. The "Hong Kong Style" side option we selected actually changed our whole dish. The sauteed spinach, soy, and ginger was in a bowl with about half a cup of broth with the scallops resting among the concoction. We didn't realize that choosing this option as a side would change the whole dish. We were told by the waiter that the scallops were slightly small but had no idea he meant tiny. I actually thought the scallops were diced up only to realize, unless I'm mistaken, that the scallops were actually about the circumference of a nickel. There were plenty of scallops (or pieces) in the bowl but for the price they should have had larger scallops in less abundance. The "sticky rice" was just steamed rice, the same you find with your Chinese when you opt out of the fried rice option and not the actual dish that most people who know Asian food would call sticky rice (slightly brown in color and coated in a sweet glaze). Dessert was good, I had the Tiramasu but just prior to serving dessert the waiter laid out new flatware for the table. My wife and I noticed that the forks seemed dingy. Upon inspection, we were horrified to discover we were given another table's used flatware that appeared to be wiped of chunks of food but not cleaned. The waiter apologized and replaced the flatware but if we had not looked at them prior to eating... For the price, I would have expected better food and of course no used flatware. I would not recommend any of my friends to go to this restaurant unfortunately.

Rude, clueless and plain awful attitude. No acknowledgment when I walked in, after grabbing someone to ask for help, I was bushed off and sent to the bar. The bar back started to clear the counter, but only removed dishes and didn't bother to wipe the mess! All this without a word. After finally getting a bartenders attention I was curtly asked if I wanted a drink. At that point I walked out...why bother with rude and jerky people that I'm going to pay for something. Not again here-ever!

Actually, it's more like 4.5 stars, but since it's at 4 right now I'm giving it a 5 :). (on second try, I tend to think it's more of a 4. sides aren't great but fish is still fresh!) We stopped by spontaneously on a Saturday night without a prior reservation, but were promptly seated in a booth in the bar/lounge area. I really liked the laid back atmosphere complemented with the live jazz band. Oh! And the servers all wore these cute white smocks with golden pins. I imagine that's what fishermen would wear at professional fishing expos. Anyway, we got * Crispy sweet & spicy Thai chili "calamari" ($10.50) - The waiter brought out two pairs of chopsticks for us and I thought he was being considerate because we're Asian, but evidently they come with the calamari. Haha. Anyway, these were lightly fried and doused with very sweet (not so spicy) sauce. Very good, but I think I prefer traditional calamari. * "Signature" stuffed VA flounder ($25.96) - Flounder stuffed with crab, scallops, shrimp, and smothered in an orange mushroom sauce. Kinda heavy but delicious. * Broiled Seafood Platter ($30.75) - Was slightly bland but we asked for the lemon beurre blanc sauce to dip and then it was awesome! The giant shrimp was SO fresh and crisp and the seared scallops were sweet perfection. We both got whipped sweet potatoes, but in retrospect I wish one of us would've tried the scallion whipped potatoes.

wow.... maybe there's a difference between eating in the restaurant and getting it as room service in the hotel... because otherwise I have NO idea where 4 and 5 stars are coming from at all!! The cesaer salad was over dressed and the dressing itself was bland -- I've had better out of a packet (and wouldn't be surprised if theirs comes out of a big gross costco bottle of it anyways) I got the salmon and it was undercooked and flavorless. The potoates looked like the instant potatoes and there was so much friggin butter in them and over the wilted limp veggies that it literally pooled around everything. No. Without question eat seafood somewhere else. It looked like a school lunch. And a bad one at that

Originally, I didn't have high hopes for dinner looking at the poster advertising the restaurant displayed at the local hotel, but went ahead with some friends. Dinner turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Once you walk into the restaurant, high quality and big dollars are evident in the decor and the nicely dressed personnel and guests. A live band played smooth jazzy music, surrounded by a busy bar made the atmosphere ideal to unwind with friends. There is an open kitchen with fresh fish and seafood displayed on ice. The seats are nice, comfy leather seated booths, surrounded by wood accents and glass. My Caipirinha cocktail at $8 (muddled lime wedges, simple sugar, and leblon cachaca) was tasty, but it took a very long time for our drink orders to arrive with two bartenders behind the bar. The waitress also originally overcharged me for the wrong cocktail but did correct it promptly after I pointed it out. The food quality was outstanding with very fresh fish and seafood. Everyone enjoyed their dishes and cleaned their plates. The Blue Point Oysters ($2.25 ea) ordered on the half shell were fresh and served on ice. The iceberg Wedge Salad ($7.95) topped with chopped tomatoes, bacon and blue cheese was tasty. The sauteed Chilean Sea Bass ($29.95) was delicious and my Florida Cobia ($21.50) was broiled and served with whipped sweet potatoes and a side of green beans. The Gulf Shrimp Alfredo Fettucine in Parmesan Cream was also a hit. Desserts were also winners including: the Double Chocolate Mousse (dark and milk chocolate layers), and the Key Lime Pie. While there were no complaints about the food and atmosphere, the service from our waitress was not very attentive for the prices charged and we had to make an extra effort to flag her down to make and fulfill our requests. Overall a nice dining experience, but the service needs more attention to details for this high-end restaurant.

Does not stand up to the hype. Piece of chicken on soy sauce with a leaf of spinach is not Hong Kong style cooking. The food is not so great. The view from the restaurant is very nice, you can sit by the duck pond and watch the wait staff feed the fish and wild life with left over bread.

Prior to going to City Fish Markets, we've heard mixed reviews however were optimistic. The location is very convenient - right off the Turnpike. Valet service was quick and pleasant. The hosting staff and servers were excellent! The meal itself was very good however I felt slightly overpriced vs. other higher end restaurants in the area. I wanted an ambiance that was "fancy" to say the least and this was not, even though the food and service was - very odd combination. All and all - it was pleasant and tasty however I would try other restaurants prior to "running" back to this one.

No drinks, no appetizer, no coffee no tea, just two medium priced main courses one salmon and the other sole franchise and 2 deserts. I think that the chef cut classes on the day they taught franchise because the dish was bland and without taste. Total cost including a modest tip $ 80.00. This is a very overpriced, medium quality fish restaurant. The waiter gave us our check before the deserts were finished. A few minutes later he picked up the check and put it down again. Then a few minutes later he picked up the check an forcibly handed it to me. To make matters worse the dining room is very noisy. It appears that no attempt had been made to reduce the sound level. There are many ways to do this and it appears that management believes that a noisy room is better than a quiet one. (Noisy rooms increase turnover) This place is a rip off for the person who wants a quiet elegant dining experience. My advice if you want a quiet relaxed fish dinning experience: Stay at home and open a can of tuna.

This place is the biggest rip off I ever seen. $30 for a 4 oz piece of fish. After spending $100 on nothing I told the waiter I had to go out and eat again somewhere else. He did not seem to care.

Reservation was for 7:30 on a Friday night. Seated about 7:40, not too bad. The place was busy, but not overly so. Very noisy, but it's a large open area. Our waiter, Sergio, came right over. We learned his name from other waiters and busboys, as he immediately asked for our drink, appetizer, and dinner orders! I hesitated to call him a WAITer, as he rushed us through everything! We asked him to come back for our main course order because we really hadn't had time to look at the menu. He was back in less than 5 minutes. He took our order, then disappeared. We asked him for some lemon and butter, and finally a bus boy got them for us--guess Sergio was too busy standing in the corner. Our appetizers were delivered by another waiter, as well as the main course. My stuffed flounder was excellent, with large scallops, shrimp, and mushrooms in a perfectly seasoned sauce. The fried seafood platter, however, was terrible. Small, marble sized scallops, and a fish filet about the size of a half-dollar with 3 fried shrimp under a mound of French fries. I had just put my fork down when Sergio asked if I was finished. He cleared my place and plopped it on top of my husband's plate, who was still eating! He had the table cleared and was wanting our coffee and desert order before we could say anything!!! We didn't order anything else, and our bill was right there, ready for us. It was very apparent Sergio wanted us outa there. We left, and will never go back. One good thing, though...I found a pearl in one of the oysters I had for an appetizer!

8:15 pm Reservations for 5 on Saturday April 30 were no problem. Our table did not have a table cloth or placemats and WOBBLED. Our waiter was not informative,he was an order taker, not a professional. The appetizers and salads arrived at the same time, making for a crowded cramped table setting and akward eating. The dinner portions were small, looked dull and unappealing very bland , the spinach I ordered was so oily I could not eat it. My tablemates had ok food, nothing spectacular. The best food was he warm breadserved befroe our orders were taken and the key lime pie for dessert. One of the coffee cups had a chip in it. The waiter failed to mentior that he included and 18% gratutity with our bill. Apparently parties of 5 or more have 18% gratuity automatically added to the bill, although no where is that policy mentioned. The waiter wiped the crumbs from our table top on to the floor and into my handbag that was sitting on the floor next to my chair. The waiter was not apologetic. The bill amounted to $100.00 per person, for that cost we should have had 5 star food, wait staff, and ambience. We had a one step above Red Lobster experience. The entire party said they would not go back

Excellent cuisine and service! Could not award the fifth star because the grilled stuffed lobster was overcooked (perhaps too long under the heat lamp; the crabmeat stuffing was delicious btw) making the tail quite tough and the claws a bit too dry. However, everything else was exceptional. Skillet roasted oyster appetizer (and the mussels too, I bet) swam in a delicious, dunkable garlic butter sauce- a fine use for the hearty, crusty warm bread. My crabcakes were meaty and flavorful without being overseasoned or overfried. Rainbow trout was delicately breaded and perfectly cooked. Since I ordered from the three course prix fixe menu, we got to share the awesome, three tiered chocolate mousse cake. Elegant dining environment. Waiters and busboys in French livery were well supervised by the suited senior staff. Our waiter, Juan, was friendly, thoughtful and attentive without being intrusive. The staff makes you feel like every diner is a valuable customer. That's some fine training. Will gladly return at first opportunity.

City Fish is always consistent. The number one place to go in the rain because of their free coveted valet parking. Tonight we celebrated Fathers Day. An Open Table reservation was easily obtained. They greet and ask a partial party if they would like to be seated at the table which is usual in Boca. Our dinner consisted of a fabulous bread. It was so crusty and delicious, I just couldn't stop eating it. The lobster bisque was a huge bowl of rich orange colored bisque. I had the flash fried lobster tail which is a signature dish and a nice chunk of sweet potatoes. My husband liked his blackened trout. My in laws loved their steak. The service was fabulous. The manger came over and personally wish to one of our party a happy birthday. The place is just kept well and the servers and service vet attentive. It's always a great go to restaurant.

Hallelujah! We finally found "that place to go for seafood"! We moved here about a year ago and have been looking for a good seafood restaurant since. Unfortunately, we have consistently been disappointed... until tonight. Being a Friday night, we sat at the bar while waiting for a table to open up. For once, to our pleasant surprise, we received excellent service (especially for sitting at a bar and for being in Boca). By the time the hostess came by to show us to our table, we passed it up to stay right where we were, the bar waitstaff was that good! The food was perfectly seasoned, cooked, and plated. We had the lump crab fritter appetizer and broiled seafood platter. Uh, Yum!! (Sorry, I'm running out of words to describe the deliciousness here.) Pricing wasn't bad at all, definitely worth the money! Not saying it was cheap, but not stupid expensive either. Oh! AND we'd definitely recommend the key lime pie! It was soooo light and tasty!

The service and the price does not match at all. Walked in for lunch and a girl with flip flops walks by us and doesn't even greet us until I looked right at her with the intentions of getting seated. Thumbs down. We were a party of 5 and each ordered an entree plus an appetizer. The waitress brings us all the entrees and forgets our appetizer. Asked her about it and she says it's coming. Really? Y can't u just be honest and say u forgot? I really want to give this place 1 star but there lump crab salad is really good...I only come here for that. Jumbo crab meat with a lemon vinagarette dressing with a really yummy devil egg on the side.

Just the best Sea Bass I have ever had. I come to City fish market often for their Sea Bass (I order it grilled / Hong Kong style) and this time it was absolutely phenomenal. I'll d honest in that I've come a few times and it wasn't this good. It's been hit or miss but tonight it was truly incredible. I also had the oysters sautéed in a lemon butter sauce for appetizers, which was also excellent. When ordered Hong Kong style, the sea bass come with a soy / miso sauce and wilted spinach with a side of sticky rice. Careful though if you don't order you fish grilled they will steam it which I find less flavorful. The food service and atmosphere were top notch tonight and I really enjoyed it. They truly deserve my almost never given........ 5 Stars.

Wow! What a place! Our Yelp search led us to this wonderful seafood restaurant today - this was yet another 'find' that we wouldn't have known about if it wasn't for the Yelp reviews! We parked in the nearby parking lot (valet parking starts at 4:30 p.m.) and walked into their bright white, free-standing building. The restaurant is very clean, spacious, and decorated in whites, blues, and rich brown wood tones. Following the server past the small retail area and huge bar, we went down a couple of stairs and sat at a table near the waterway that hugged the building. This dining room had tables and booths to accommodate small and large parties, and because the floor was tiered, the room didn't seem overwhelming in size. Our server, Jason, politely presented the lunch menu; we glanced at it and then asked him for what we really wanted - a cold seafood platter, oysters Rockefeller, and baked clams. Jason described the platter and we immediately ordered it, along with the baked clams. He had to check if the oysters Rockefeller dish was available and would let us know. (It turned out that it was available and we ordered it but he seemed to have forgotten we wanted it, as the restaurant unexpectedly filled up at an off hour - he told us that he was working our area alone and was surprised by both the number of tables and guests per table that just popped up within minutes of our arrival.) The cold platter arrived first - 4 colossal shrimp, a lobster claw and half of a lobster (about 4 ounces of meat), a generous bowl of mixed seafood ceviche with finely chopped mango, cucumber, onion, and red pepper, and 4 each of icy raw New England oysters and clams. The hot cast iron pan of baked clams immediately followed. Shortly after the bread was served, straight from the oven, along with a thick slice of butter cut from a one pound brick. The food was so fresh! The oysters were kissed by the lemon juice but the brine tasted like the oysters were just plucked from the ocean. The oyster meat was soft and sweet. OMG these were seriously the freshest tasting oysters I've ever had - there may not be a need to go to the west coast of Florida for a seafood tower if this is the caliber of fresh seafood available here. The shrimp were so big - I told hubby that I want to be treated however they were because it's obvious they were very well cared for. The meat was firm but not rubbery. The lobster was similar - and when I picked through the body of the lobster to cull the chunks of meat from under the tentacle area I tasted sesame oil - likely from the seaweed salad that garnished the lobster - how odd but how very delicious! The ceviche had whole scallops, juicy and cooked by the citrus juice, small shrimp, and squid. This was a generous bowl that was deliciously flavored so as to let the fresh seafood speak first and the ceviche sauce last. We tore pieces of bread to sop up the ceviche sauce and chopped veggies/fruit. The baked clams were whole and the breadcrumbs, parmesan, butter, and shallots were loosely positioned on top of the whole clams - not packed in like Thanksgiving stuffing. I can see how people could use the bread to soak up the sauce but frankly it was a bit too rich with butter for me to want to eat a large amount - I was good with the generous amount that was contained in the shell! We were so full - luckily Jason did not bring the oysters Rockefeller because we wouldn't have had the appetite to appreciate the dish. We did, however, decide to take dessert home with us and I'm not sure why but Jason advised that the manager gifted one of the desserts to us! We ordered key lime pie and carrot cake. ( I tasted both when we got home and the tart key lime pudding is sitting in a graham cracker crust, next to a generous amount of whipped cream and the carrot cake is springy-moist, with the layers sharing sweet cream cheese filling and topping. There was a carrot piped on top of our slice as well.) Jason said they have a baker on site who makes the desserts - they were good but to us the star of this restaurant has to be the seafood. THAT is worth the half hour trip from our house - I could get in the car and go right back there without a second thought! Jason was so welcoming and friendly that I told him we'd be asking for him the next time we go. When we return we want to try the whole fish and other entrees...so we think - who's kidding who? I know we'll order the seafood tower next time too, and likely the bread, and probably the oysters Rockefeller we didn't taste today...and maybe the baked clams because they were so good. We should bring a group of friends so we can try more dishes...UYE anyone???!!!

The setting is nice but extremely noisy. The shrimp cocktail was overcooked & very expensive for u-12/14. The main course was excellent and the portions more than enough. Our waiter was very pleasant but seemed distracted . Always make a reservation and enjoy the fresh fish entrees ! Because of the noise level it is probably better suited for larger parties than intimate gatherings.

The food is decent. Not worth the money though. If I am paying $25.00 or more for a entree I expect it to be well seasoned and not bland. The "whipped potatoes" we're awful. They were over whipped and bland. No seasoning was used. The mahi was decent however if you are searing it a pan it should have a slight crust and it just wasn't up to par. The calamari was spectacular, no complaints there. There bar deserves their own special round of applause because their drinks were really good. Still ... If I am paying $25+ for an entree it better be on point and it simply fell short.

I did not have a terrible meal, but I would probably consider other places to go next time I am visiting the area. We came here because my mother is staying in the hotel adjacent to the restaurant, and the reviews have suggested this is one of the best places for seafood in Boca. The oysters I ordered as an appetizer were not shucked properly, with small bits of shell mixed into the brine, and some of the oysters were not completely cut, so I had to use the fork and butter knife to complete the dislodging. The salmon I ordered came wrongly prepared. I ordered it broiled, and it had an oily crust that was definitely pan-cooked. It was tasty and fresh, but it wasn't what I ordered. I would have considered sending it back, but everyone else received their food and I didn't want to hold things up - my mom wouldn't have eaten until mine came back. We did not order dessert or coffee, opting to go out for frozen yogurt afterwards. My dislikes worth pointing out: 1) The service was average. The server was unpleasant, and after taking our order, was nearly unseen, aside from asking if we wanted dessert and delivering a check. The busser however, was really polite and attentive. I give him 5 stars. 2) The food was good, but not prepared the way it was supposed to be. I was disappointed. 3) The entryway is a zoo. It is small, and it was filled with well-dressed retirees demanding that they had a reservation. The customers were rude to the staff, and to get to the restroom, you had to pass through the madness. 4) The valet attendants drive like maniacs. Although we did not valet, we had to walk through the drive-way to get back to the sidewalk, and we were nearly hit twice by attendants driving high-end cars way too fast. 5) The volume of the restaurant is extremely loud. There was a constant noise blitz. Overall, I would not be coming back here unless invited by my parents. Even then, I would perhaps suggest somewhere else.

Had a very expensive bad meal here today. Nothing was good; even the bread was terrible. The Hong Kong style sea bass tasted old; not fresh. The cod DH had, also Hong Kong Style was nasty. The waitress recommended the $2 up charge for the twice baked potato which was three teensy potatoes walnut sized stuffed with nasty melted asiago cheese: they should be embarrassed. The French fries were stale and nasty. The filet my son had was very unappetizing looking for a $38 piece of meat. Must be the chefs night off. I will never ever come back here. It was pointless to complain because EVERYTHING was dreadful. So disappointed. And DH was and still is hungry; he did not eat his meal at all. Sadness.

Seated right away, but come communication breakdown as it too waitstaff 20-min to come to table. Was out to dinner with my uncle, so we did enjoy some good conversation. Food was OK, nothing exceptional. Service once we got it was attentive. Max was our overly apologetic waiter. The manager did stop by to check on us. We both opted for the Prix Fix menu which did not disappoint.

Let's start with the most important thing - the food here is excellent. We were a party of four and each of us were extremely happy with our choices. The BBQ Beef Brisket egg roll appetizer was especially tasty. What knocks it down is everything else you would hope for if you were seeking a great total dining experience. We showed up without a reservation, since we did not see anything about needing one. Granted it was Mother's Day, but a little later than the typical Boca busy hour and a little off-season. The hostess came off a bit brusque at first, and since our entire party was not together (the other half were a minute behind) she would not even give us an estimate an how long the wait would be, but she made it seem like it would be a long wait. However, looking around there were plenty of seats, and we did end up being seated within a few minutes. Next issue was the wait time for each course to arrive. Even when the waitress, who was extremely pleasant, would say something would be right out, what she really meant was it would be right out in about 15 minutes. I almost felt like I was going to be camping out overnight, and when you have an elderly person in your party who is already eating out much later than they are used to, the extremely long wait for anything to come out was a disappointment. Finally, the restaurant is a bit pricey. Not prohibitive, but yet not cheap. Meal with only one appetizer, four entrees, none of which were at the top end of the price scale, 2 coffees and no dessert or alcohol was $150. Overall, a good but not great restaurant, but again the food was excellent.

I stayed at the Hilton next door and I ate here two nights in a row it's that good. Great service and even better food. I could do without the cheesy music at the bar, but other than that I would highly recommend this place.

Very good food and service. This place is enormous, yet we still had to wait for an 8:15 reservation. They gave us a table at 8:00. They have great hush puppies. We ordered a dozen oysters that were amazing. I also had steamed lobster that was prepared perfectly. The place is buzzing with snow birds.

We opted for the bar and Happy Hour instead of our foursomes usual eating in the dining room. We were in the need for fun. We ordered several small plates and drinks and it was quite enjoyable. Although it was appetizers, the same preparations, presentations and table service all were very good. The mussels were not up to par but it could have been a seasonal thing. Our waitress was amiable and attentive and helped us with our choices. We had a great time and different experience at the same restaurant which is a good thing!

Wow... I can't even begin to tell you how much I love this place. a friend of mine and I decided to try this place because of a bad reviews for another place in the same plaza (the name to be ommitted to protect the guilty). The market is fantastic, you can literally buy a tuna steak, a crab cake, or a fillet of salmon to bring home and enjoy. The restaurant had both indoor and outdoor sittings. We sat by the water. I ordered the special - seabass marinated in ginger soy served over cooked spinach. Talk about a pallet pleasing combination, the FRESH ginger adds just enough of the kick. And oh, the rice was actually cooked right!!! I'm telling everyone I know as this becomes one of my favorite places...

My family enjoys City Fish. I enjoy the broiled seafood platter but the flash fried lobster tail is excellent. Took my in laws this weekend and they were very imprrssed. Usually, they are a tough sell! They're from New England, so they have their standards when it comes to their seafood. They enjoyed the scallops (blackened) and both versions of the calamari (tender, crispy, flavorful). Their oysters are fresh with a salty taste of the sea. Yummmmmmmmm. If I've found any room for improvement, it was with the cocktails. We had drinks made by two different bartenders. There was no consistency. Had to send back 2 drinks. Otherwise, well worth spending an evening at City Fish

We have gone to City Fish Market for years and have always had a great meal and great service. We know several of the waiters. This time the food was still good and service great, but my wife's discovered her fish to be raw after eating a small portion of it. She separated the filets to verify it was all raw and I verified this myself. We got the waiter and told him about it. He took the plate and said he would take care of this and left us with the idea she would get a new piece (we were expecting a new partial serving of fish . The fish was returned in the same shape as it was given and had been microwaved with a new serving of potatoes and vegetables. More potatoes and vegetables was not what she wanted. The manager brought it over and the only thing he said was the plate was hot. No apology or comment. I find this very poor and we will probably wait a long time before going back to City Fish Market. It is obvious the management has changed and this one does not treat the customer in an acceptable manner.

The Bar service was excellent. My bartender was Mike who makes the best dry martini in Boca and guided me through the menu with recommendations based on my preferences. I wanted a plate of mixed seafood delights that was not on the menu but the manager got the chef to make it for me anyways. Very impressive and accommodating staff and sumptuous seafood makes this restaurant a must have dining experience you will certainly enjoy!

Had a 90th birthday party for my Mom with 24 people in a private room overlooking the water. The staff was wonderful. The event agent was excellent and helped us to develop a menu that accommodated all of our guests' dietary needs (including the vegan). We were able to offer our guests numerous choices of delicious appetizers, main courses and desserts. Everything was great. (The veggies were a bit bland for my taste, but that is just a minor observation and other people liked them that way). All the fish dishes were cooked perfectly. Even the coffee was good. The waiter and waitress made sure everyone had filled glasses, but didn't bring out unneeded drinks or wine. They timed everything from the welcome appetizers to the champagne toast and desserts perfectly- no one had to wait for their food and no one felt rushed. The manager popped in occasionally to make sure everything was going well, but really wasn't needed. We received compliments from all of the guests. The price was reasonable, considering the quality of the venue and food. Couldn't be happier.

Wow! An awesome seafood restaurant! This place isn't cheap and it's certainly not Red Lobster, which is a good thing. What City Fish Market is all about is 4 star service and four star food! Treat yourself and enjoy a good meal.

Located right next door to the Hilton Suites Hotel in Boca Raton is the City Fish Market, which is part of a popular restaurant chain from the Buckhead suburbs of Atlanta. The restaurant faces the man-made lake, and has a covered patio along with the main dining room and classy bar area. My business partner and I were there during a mid-week Happy Hour time frame, and the bar area was hopping with local professionals who were enjoying crafted cocktails, beer and wine, along with raw bar selections. The one-man musician was fantastic, and he played for several hours while we sat out in the main dining area and enjoyed our dinner. Our waitress recommended the oysters for starters, and so Glen and I had a dozen freshly-shucked Blue Points from Maine. The oysters were plump and sweet, and they were served with a horseradish-spiked cocktail sauce as well as a vinegar and shallots Mignonette sauce. The menu was fantastic with lots of very fresh fish specials which could be sautéed, broiled or blackened, with a variety of sauces and preparations, including their signature Hong Kong style which was a combination of sherry soy, scallions, and ginger for the marinade, and then served with spinach & bowl of sticky rice. After lots of agonizing I ordered the broiled seafood platter which came with a Maryland-style lump crab cake, grilled jumbo shrimp, grilled diver scallops, and a grilled filet of Atlantic salmon, served with chive potatoes and sautéed spinach. No big surprise......Glen went for the lobster. He opted for a two-pound broiled lobster, and polished that sucker off in no time flat. The atmosphere at City Fish is relaxed, but classy. We had a great time catching up on our business discussions while enjoying a spectacular seafood meal.

Had the blackened salmon salad and shrimp, scallop fettuccini w/ marinara sauce. Loved both dishes - and our waiters Zeke & Joseph were very helpful and professional. Will highly recommend and definitely be back.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
